Who We Are
Where ideas learn to perform.
NO.9 is a new kind of gallery: part studio, part test bed, part public stage. We support digital artists with time, tools and an audience—then share the process so people can see how the work actually comes to life.
What we’re building
A place where projection acts like water, sound behaves like weather and spaces reprogram themselves as you move. The tools are familiar—code, sensors, optics—but the goal is simple: make it feel alive.
Programmes at a glance
Exhibitions — season-curated shows of screen-light, projection and sculptural data.
Experiences — room-scale encounters that dissolve the line between viewer and work.
Labs — single-day sprints; you leave with a prototype, not a certificate.
Residencies — six-week studio pods with a grant, mentorship and a week-six showing.
Our approach
We commission boldly and prototype in public. Curators and engineers work as one team; the rig is part of the story. We document everything—patch notes, lighting plots, process films—so the knowledge circulates.
The space
Flexible gallery, blackout-ready. Maker’s bench with XR rigs, projectors, sensors, and render machines. A café-bar for the debriefs that turn into new ideas.
For artists
Bring the question you can’t answer alone. We’ll supply access, accountability and the right kind of pressure.
For brands & institutions
We build collaborations that feel like culture. Launches, previews, private walkthroughs, R&D showcases—measured in real audience response, not just impressions.
For coders & builders
Help us make the walls sing. We welcome contributors across GLSL, TouchDesigner, Unreal, DMX, electronics and machine learning.
How do we sustain it
Income from studio hire, events and partnerships funds commissions, free public hours and open resources. The loop stays creative.
The tone
Warm, precise, low-drama. We like neat cables and brave ideas.
